[BUG] Gift subscription code shows "Gift no longer available" after first activation attempt — account stuck on Free plan

What's Wrong?
I received a Claude gift subscription and attempted to activate it via the redemption link. The first activation attempt appeared to process, but the subscription was never applied to my account. After that, every subsequent attempt to redeem the code results in the error:
"Gift no longer available. This gift code is no longer active."
The code was purchased on June 4, 2026 (today), so expiration is not the issue.

Steps to Reproduce
Received gift subscription link via email
Opened the redemption link while logged into Claude account
First attempt appeared to process — no error shown at that point
Subscription was not applied to the account (remained on Free plan)
All subsequent attempts via https://claude.ai/gift/redeem?code=c65fc0e2-2066-4486-87b4-827d617c9a0c return: "Gift no longer available. This gift code is no longer active."
Expected Behavior
The gift subscription should be successfully applied to the account for the full gifted duration.
Actual Behavior
Account remains on Free plan. The gift code now shows as inactive despite never being successfully redeemed.
Troubleshooting Steps Completed (all unsuccessful)
Logged out and back into the account
Cleared browser cache and cookies
Restarted the browser
Disabled all browser extensions
Tried the direct redemption link
Not using a VPN or any IP masking service
No active or conflicting subscriptions on the account
Contacted support — confirmed as a system-level issue but unable to resolve manually
Support Response
Contacted support at [support@anthropic.com](mailto:support@anthropic.com). They confirmed the issue is a backend/system-level processing error but stated they are unable to manually activate subscriptions, issue replacement codes, or investigate backend states. The issue was documented as a bug report with no timeline for resolution.

The gift was purchased today (June 4, 2026). Purchase receipt is attached. Support at [support@anthropic.com](mailto:support@anthropic.com) has been contacted and confirmed this is a system-level backend error, but was unable to resolve it manually. Related issues: #45335, #45430, #48821.
