What's Wrong?

My Claude Pro gift subscription was automatically downgraded to Free after 17 days, without any action on my part.

Timeline:

• March 30, 2026: Gift subscription redeemed successfully
• April 16, 2026: Subscription disappeared, account reverted to Free
• Expected end date: ~April 30, 2026

Billing page now shows: $0.00 invoice from March 30 with no active Pro plan.

Support history

• Contacted Fin AI Agent multiple times via support@anthropic.com
• Conversation ID: 215473952542260
• Fin confirmed the billing bug but stated it "cannot restore gift subscriptions"
• Tickets closed without resolution
• Every automated response was about "failed payments" — irrelevant, as this is a gift subscription with no credit card involved

Expected behavior

Gift subscription should remain active until April 30, 2026.

What Should Happen?

Gift subscription should remain active until April 30, 2026. Account should stay on Pro plan for the full gifted period without any manual intervention.

2. Use Pro features normally for several days
3. After ~17 days, account is automatically downgraded to Free plan without any user action
4. Settings → Billing shows Free plan with only a $0.00 invoice from the redemption date
