[BUG] Claude Max 20x silently downgraded to Free plan — invoice paid Apr 17, 2026

What's Wrong?

My Claude Max 20x subscription ($220/month) was silently downgraded to the Free plan with no action on my part. This has severely disrupted my work — I run multiple production systems (content pipelines, e-commerce automation, AI agents) that depend on Claude Max daily. Losing access mid-cycle without warning has caused real business loss.

Invoice status: Paid
Current account status: Free plan (INCORRECT)

No cancellation email. No warning. No action from my side. The billing page still shows the invoice as Paid, but all Max features are completely inaccessible.

What Should Happen?

Max 20x plan should remain active for the full billing period (Apr 17 – May 17, 2026) as paid. Access should never be revoked silently while the invoice shows Paid.

Error Messages/Logs

No error message displayed. Account silently shows "Free plan" in Settings → Billing. Invoice still visible and marked "Paid".

Steps to Reproduce

1. Purchase Claude Max 20x subscription on claude.ai
2. Use normally for ~3 weeks
3. Log in one day — account silently shows Free plan
4. Check Settings → Billing — invoice still shows "Paid" but plan is Free

This is a billing/entitlement bug affecting claude.ai subscription management, not Claude Code CLI. Related known issues: #54560, #41581, #43257, #45335. Multiple users have reported the same silent downgrade pattern.
