Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

After a recent update to the Claude desktop app, it has become much harder to see what my scheduled tasks did.

Before: every run showed up in the left sidebar, so I could open today's results with one click.

Now: runs only show up under Scheduled → task → History, so I have to open each task and click into each run one at a time. I have 7 local scheduled tasks, several of them daily, so this means a lot of extra clicking every day.

What I checked:

  • "Edit sidebar" only offers Projects, Artifacts, Scheduled, Dispatch and Customize. There is no option for Routines.
  • The app's sidebar settings still list a Routines section, but it is hidden, and I can't find any way to turn it back on.

What Should Happen?

  1. Bring back the Routines section in the sidebar, or add it to "Edit sidebar" so users can turn it on themselves.
  2. Or show each task's latest result directly on the Scheduled page, without clicking into each run.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set up a few local scheduled tasks in the Claude desktop app (Code tab), at least one running daily.
  2. Wait for them to run.
  3. Look at the left sidebar: none of the runs appear there anymore.
  4. Open "More" → "Edit sidebar": there is no Routines option to turn on.
  5. The only way to see a run's result is Scheduled → open the task → click a run under History, one run at a time.

None

Is this a regression?

Yes, this worked in a previous version

Last Working Version

Not sure of the exact version; runs were visible in the sidebar before the most recent desktop update

Additional Information

This is in the Claude desktop app (Code tab), not the terminal.

Same problem as #102150, which was reported on Windows. I'm seeing it on macOS, so it isn't Windows-only.

Earlier reports of the same thing: #54524 (closed and locked, so I couldn't add to it), #54517, #50928, #49942.
