Additional Information

Title: Unable to access appeal form – /restricted redirects to /new

Description:

Summary

The appeal process for suspended accounts appears inaccessible.

The official Safeguards article directs suspended users to "Submit an appeal", which links to:

https://claude.ai/restricted

However, visiting that URL immediately redirects to:

https://claude.ai/new

instead of displaying an appeal form.

Additional notes

  • Reproduced across multiple browsers
  • Reproduced across multiple devices
  • Reproduced in incognito/private mode
  • Reproduced on different network connections
  • Support responses direct users back to the same appeal link

Because the appeal page is inaccessible, affected users cannot complete the required appeal process.

how to work?

Confirming this bug — every appeal channel leads back to the broken /restricted link (complete dead end).

I'm hitting the exact issue described in this thread, and I want to document how fully it blocks suspended users from appealing.

My account was suspended after an automated review ("suspicious patterns"). Support directed me to claude.ai/restricted to appeal — but that page enters an infinite redirect loop and sends me to claude.ai/new instead of loading the
form.

Everything I've tried, all with the same result:

  • Logging in first with my suspended account, then opening /restricted
  • Incognito/private windows
  • Several different browsers
  • A different network connection

Since the redirect happens server-side, none of these client-side workarounds make any difference.

The dead end is now total: when I emailed support instead, I received an automated reply pointing me right back to the same /restricted link — the one that doesn't work. So the official flow is:

  1. Form at /restricted → redirect loop, can't submit.
  2. Email support → auto-reply says "use the form at /restricted."
  3. Repeat forever.

There is currently no functioning path for a suspended user to file an appeal. This isn't a minor UI glitch — it makes the entire appeals process unreachable, which is a serious problem for anyone caught by a false positive.

Could someone from the team please either fix the /restricted routing or provide a working alternative channel for appeal submissions? Happy to share account details privately with anyone who can help. Thank you.

"Same issue here. My account was suspended on June 23 and the appeal form at claude.ai/restricted keeps redirecting me to a new chat on every browser and device, both logged in and logged out. I have no way to submit my appeal. Please escalate — affected user from Colombia."

+1 affected. My account shows "This organization has
been disabled" on login, and I received an official
suspension notification from Anthropic's Safeguards
Team via email citing "suspicious signals" and a
Usage Policy violation. The notification instructs me
to "log in to claude.ai and you'll be taken to the
appeals page."

In practice:

  • claude.ai/restricted redirects to claude.ai/new in

every browser I have tested (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

  • Incognito mode, cleared cookies, no extensions —

same redirect

  • Logging in first, then navigating to /restricted —

same redirect

  • The disabled-account login screen contains no

appeal link of its own

Email fallback is equally broken:

  • I have sent multiple emails to

usersafety@anthropic.com

  • All replies came from "Fin AI Agent" and contained

the identical automated message pointing back to
the same inaccessible form

  • A follow-up explaining the form was unreachable

was auto-closed by the bot with "This conversation
has been closed and is no longer monitored"

  • A reframed email titled "Bug Report" instead of

"Appeal" received the same automated form-link
response

The result is that there is currently no functional
path for disabled users to submit an appeal:

  • The official form is inaccessible by design (it

requires a logged-in session that disabled accounts
cannot establish)

  • The documented email channel is a closed bot loop

that cannot escalate to a human reviewer

  • The suspension email itself is sent from a no-reply

address

This is a complete process failure for the population
the appeal system exists to serve. Requesting:

  1. Either a fix to the /restricted redirect so

disabled accounts can render the form, or

  1. A documented alternative channel (email or web

form) that does NOT require an active login
session and that reaches a human reviewer rather
than the Fin AI Agent bot loop.

Happy to provide additional reproduction details
privately to anyone from Anthropic Trust & Safety
who can DM or reach out via the email tied to my
GitHub account.
