Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Jun 20, 2025 by jontolof Closed Jun 20, 2025

Environment

  • Platform (select one):
  • [ ] Anthropic API
  • [ ] AWS Bedrock
  • [ ] Google Vertex AI
  • [ x] Other: Claude Code
  • Claude CLI version: 1.0.30 (Claude Code)
  • Operating System: macOS 15.5 (24F74)
  • Terminal: iTerm2 Build 3.5.14

Bug Description

After a thourough planning I switched to edit mode to start generating code. I wanted to see what Claude Code code accomplish without too much interference on my part, so I chose to accept all edits for this session. Now I cannot switch it off. I've tried Shift+Tab from your support page but it is switching between modes (?, Plan, Edit). I've tried the command /toggle-auto-accept and get a response "auto-accept edits toggled" without a verification off the new state. However the purple line under the text field in edit mode still says: " ⏵⏵ auto-accept edits on (shift+tab to cycle)"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. During edits, when asked if I should accept edits, press 2 (yes for all edits in this session
  2. Press Shift+Tab to try to toggle the auto-accept mode (from Anthropic documentation), or use /toggle-auto-accept (from Claude Code discussion).

Expected Behavior

Toggle auto-accept-edits on or off

Actual Behavior

Cycle between modes (if using Shift+Tab)

Additional Context

I tried to exit the session and restart Claude, but this setting is persistent between sessions.
