[BUG] accept edits on is not working

What's Wrong?

I am using v 2.1.1 of Claude Code on Windows 11 through CLI.
none of the ways I know of to turn 'accept edits on' works. Claude Code keeps asking for permission to edit.

What Should Happen?

Claude Code should store permission to edit files at least for the current session.

1. Install Claude Code
2. Work with Claude Code
3. when prompted, either select 'Yes, and do not ask any more during this session' or hit shift+tab to toggle edit mode
