What were you trying to do?
I was trying to start a Claude Code cloud session on one of my private repositories.
- The Claude GitHub App was installed on my personal account a short time ago.
- In the GitHub App settings, the repository is listed under "Only select repositories".
- On claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → GitHub, the account shows "Installed", and "Check repository status" says: "Claude Code cloud sessions can work in <my repo>".
What happened instead?
When I select the repository in Claude Code, I get this error:
"Couldn't access this GitHub repository. Reconnect GitHub, or make sure your GitHub account has access to this repository."
This happens even though the status check on claude.ai says the repository is accessible. The same repository could be cloned successfully from a separate Claude session on the same account, so the repository and the app installation seem to be fine.
What I have already tried:
- Refreshing the page and starting a new session
- Checking the GitHub App installation and repository access (all correct)
