Preflight Checklist
I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet (note: very similar to #58371, #62722, #63685, #68212, #72027 — appears to be a recurring entitlement sync bug)
This is a single bug report
I am using the latest version of Claude Code (2.1.220)
What's Wrong?
I have an active, paid Claude Pro subscription, but every request in Claude Code is blocked with:
Your organization has disabled Claude subscription access for Claude Code · Use an Anthropic API key instead, or ask your admin to enable access
This is a personal account — not Team or Enterprise — so there is no admin to contact.
Environment
Platform: macOS
Claude Code version: 2.1.220
Login method (per /status): Claude Pro account
Organization (per /status): [thomas.koch@gmx.fr](mailto:thomas.koch@gmx.fr)'s Organization
Email: [thomas.koch@gmx.fr](mailto:thomas.koch@gmx.fr)
Latest Session ID: 84da9604-60a7-4fab-98e2-ad8a481ea314
No ANTHROPIC_API_KEY set (confirmed empty, and checked .zshrc, .bashrc, .profile for any export)
Troubleshooting already completed
Confirmed no API key set anywhere in shell config
/logout, then claude update to latest version
Full terminal restart
Fresh login via claude → "Claude account with subscription" → completed full OAuth flow in browser, authorized via claude.ai, confirmed Pro plan is active there ("Forfait Pro" shown in account settings)
/status after each attempt consistently shows Claude Pro account + correct email, but the error persists identically on every message sent
Context from Anthropic support
I contacted support, who confirmed I have three organizations tied to the same email: one "Individual Org" (Platform/API), and two organizations with the exact same name ("[thomas.koch@gmx.fr](mailto:thomas.koch@gmx.fr)'s Organization") — one on Free, one on Pro. Support stated:
"This is a server-side entitlement mapping issue that can't be fixed from your end... A human agent will need to investigate which organization ID Claude Code is resolving to when you authenticate, and either enable subscription access for that specific organization, or ensure your Pro subscription is properly linked to the correct organization."
Support also suggested using a Console API key as a workaround, which I'd rather avoid since it would mean paying for API usage on top of an already-paid, unusable Pro subscription.
Expected behavior
Claude Code should authenticate against my Pro-plan organization and allow subscription-based access, matching what claude.ai already shows (active Pro plan, paid).
Current status
No further update from support since the above response. Given the number of similar reports (#58371, #62722, #63685, #68212, #72027), this looks like a recurring bug affecting individual Pro/Max subscribers with duplicate/similarly-named personal organizations, rather than an isolated case. Any help from a maintainer with backend access would be appreciated.
What Should Happen?
Claude Code should authenticate against my Pro-plan organization and allow subscription-based access, matching what claude.ai already shows (active Pro plan, paid).
Error Messages/Logs
The only error shown in the Claude Code interface is:
Your organization has disabled Claude subscription access for Claude Code · Use an Anthropic API key instead, or ask your admin to enable access
No stack trace or additional detail is displayed in the terminal UI itself. I don't have access to raw request logs on my end, but based on similar reports (e.g. #63685), the underlying server response for this class of error appears to be:
Error: 403 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"permission_error","message":"OAuth authentication is currently not allowed for this organization."}}
If it would help, I'm happy to enable verbose/debug logging and reproduce, if you can point me to the right flag or environment variable to capture the full request/response.
Steps to Reproduce
Have a Claude Pro subscription active and paid, tied to a personal account (no Team/Enterprise) that has multiple auto-generated organizations under the same email — in my case, two organizations sharing the exact same name ("[thomas.koch@gmx.fr](mailto:thomas.koch@gmx.fr)'s Organization"), one on Free plan and one on Pro plan
Open Claude Code in terminal (claude)
If already logged in, run /logout, then claude update to ensure latest version
Fully restart the terminal
Run claude again
At the login method prompt, select "Claude account with subscription · Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise"
Complete the OAuth flow in the browser (authorize via claude.ai, confirm the account shown is on Pro plan)
Return to terminal — "Login successful" is shown, press Enter to continue
Run /status — confirms Login method: "Claude Pro account", correct email and organization name
Send any message, e.g. bonjour or hello
Result: every message is blocked with:
Your organization has disabled Claude subscription access for Claude Code · Use an Anthropic API key instead, or ask your admin to enable access

I am facing the same issue since last week
@claude is someone working on this issue ? Should I move to Open AI ?
Same case here — personal Pro account with two auto-generated organizations on the same email (one Platform/API, one Pro), Claude Code resolving to the wrong one. VS Code extension on Windows + WSL, Claude Code 2.1.210 / 2.1.220.
Support's AI agent confirmed the duplicate-org mapping on day one and escalated to a human agent on July 31.
As of today (September 2) there has been no response at all — no email, no reply in the support thread, despite three follow-ups. Over a month with a paid Pro subscription and no Claude Code access.
Adding this as a data point: the escalation path described above doesn't appear to be producing results.
I just cancelled my Claude paid account, it's not possible to continue to pay and have no service at all. Anthropic is better to make show off for investors instead of helping customers. Open AI is welcoming me as a new customer. Adieux
