Problem

The desktop app sidebar supports organizing sessions into custom groups ("move to group" in the session context menu), which is a great feature. However, the order of groups in the sidebar cannot be controlled:

  • No drag-and-drop reordering of groups
  • No pin-to-top option
  • Renaming groups with numeric/symbol prefixes does not affect their position either (tested)

Use case

Heavy multi-session workflow: a daily housekeeping group plus multiple parallel project groups (creative writing, stage production, finance automation, ...). The most-used group (daily housekeeping) should stay at the top of the sidebar, but group order currently appears fixed, which makes navigation harder as the number of groups grows.

Request

Any of the following would solve it:

  1. Drag-and-drop reordering of groups in the sidebar
  2. Pin/favorite a group to the top
  3. A group sort option (manual / alphabetical / recent activity)

Environment: Claude Code desktop app on macOS (groups also used on Windows).

Group organization is already a big quality-of-life win — ordering control would complete it. Thanks!
