Feature description

In the Claude Code desktop app (macOS), the left navigation sidebar shows sessions organized into project groups. Currently there is no way to change the order of these groups. The order is determined automatically by the app.

Proposed solution

Allow users to customize the order of project groups in the sidebar, for example via:

  • Drag and drop reordering of groups
  • Pinning favorite groups to the top
  • A sort option (alphabetical, last activity, manual)

Why this is useful

Users who work with many projects at once want their most important or most frequently used projects at the top of the sidebar, instead of scrolling or relying on the automatic order. This mirrors common behavior in other tools (e.g. pinning/reordering in IDEs, Slack sections, browser tab groups).

Environment

  • Claude Code desktop app on macOS
