Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Device: Huawei laptop
OS: Windows 11
GPU: Intel Arc Graphics
App version: 1.6608.1.0

Description:
The Claude desktop app launches but shows only a black screen. The app is completely unusable. The browser version at claude.ai works fine.

Troubleshooting steps already tried:

  • Reinstalled the app (both Microsoft Store and direct download)
  • Updated Intel Arc GPU driver to latest version (32.0.101.8737, dated 5/1/2026)
  • Launched with --disable-gpu flag via PowerShell (administrator)
  • Launched via Win+R with --disable-gpu
  • Checked Windows Event Viewer - no Claude-related crash logs found

Expected behavior: App opens and displays normally
Actual behavior: Black screen, no content rendered

Please fix Intel Arc Graphics compatibility with the Electron rendering engine.

What Should Happen?

The Claude desktop app should open and display normally after launch.

Error Messages/Logs

No crash logs found in Windows Event Viewer (Application log). The app launches silently and shows only a black screen with no error output.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Claude desktop app on Huawei laptop with Intel Arc Graphics
