Claude Account Disabled After Payment for Claude Code Max 5x Plan

Description

On August 2, I noticed that my Claude Code Max 5x plan was not renewed, so I proceeded to pay for a new plan. Immediately after the payment, I was unable to access Claude Code or Claude.ai and consistently received the error message: "This organization has been disabled."

Background

In July, I subscribed to the Claude Code Max 20x plan but found it excessive for my needs, so I downgraded to the Claude Code Max 5x plan.

Steps Taken

I have attempted to resolve the issue through the following channels, but have not received any response:

  • Email support
  • Submitting the "Account Ban Appeal" form
  • Contacting support via the AI chat on the Claude.ai website

Additionally, when attempting to request a refund, I received a message stating that the request was invalid.

I was just about to start this thread thank you @thinhbuzz, I have the same issue with a slight difference. In my case, I just updated my billing details before purchasing the time. I am devastated as I am unable to get a response and I just paid a lot for this

I am so upset that I did not even receive any warning or email that I violated something that led to the ban. Simply now I cannot use a service that I paid for, and cannot get a refund because I cannot use the service.

According to the Terms of Service, blocks associated with illegitimate activity should have emails with warnings beforehand. I haven't been doing anything that should trigger those blocks, and given I had the same situation, where I re-subbed to Max only to have my account disabled, it seems like a technical bug,

I don't know if this is related, but I just was trying to upgrade from Pro to x5 Max - and I am not able to select this plan on upgrade plan page, only x20 plan is activated and is able to buy, x5 plan is just ignoring my attempts to click on it. Maybe this plan has some issues or they are in the process of changing x5 plan terms. I've sent message to the support, but for now have no information from them.

Just to echo this, I had the exact same situation as @manupastorr, I got a refund email as well, but I made the decision to re-attempt the subscription. I wish I hadn't as I am now chewing up time without any ability to use it...

Just another data point, the only difference in my case is that I renewed the subscription through Apple Pay rather than the Credit card that I normally use.(both in my name and same address)

Mine also was banned just few hours after buying Max plan and connecting claude code. Tried with another account and payment info with same results, even on the machine that these accounts were banned logging into any account on anthropic bans it immediately, I'm totally confused. we're just programmers not terrorists!

Potential Solution for Some Cases

Hi @everyone experiencing this issue,

I discovered one cause of the "organization has been disabled" error that might help some of you.

If you have an ANTHROPIC_API_KEY environment variable set from a previous/disabled organization, it overrides your Max subscription.

Quick Test

# Check if you have an API key
echo $ANTHROPIC_API_KEY

# If yes, try:
unset ANTHROPIC_API_KEY
claude --print "test"

If this works, the issue was that an old API key was overriding your subscription.

Full details and solution: #8327

This specifically helps if:

  • Your subscription is valid on claude.ai
  • You previously used API keys from work/school
  • The error appeared suddenly

Note: This won't help with actual billing/account suspension issues, but it's worth checking since the error message is identical.

Same thing happened to me. Makes me start to wonder if anyone should trust a company with something as important as AGI when things like ultra, mind numbingly basic user support is clearly not a priority. I'd assume anthropic uses a lot of their own data to train their models. Safe to assume the anthropic models are being trained to not care about users.

This company's bait-and-switch is outrageous. They sold me on a service with a 20x capacity, and after I paid, they cut it by 75%, telling me to accept a fraction of what I was promised. For a disabled, self-funded developer on a fixed pension, every subscription dollar is a sacrifice. This isn't just bad business; it's exploitative. I am beyond offended.

Im an independent researcher using the free Claude Android app and literally 2 days ago while working with Claude actually achieved something significant that part of required 48 hours without using that thread, had no problem the rest of the night on other threads and now 2 days later all of a sudden my orginization has been disabled i feel like they are literally about to basically rob me

Exact same thing happened to me, no notice, no violations, just a refund then when resubscribing to the MAX 20x plan I was greeted with the lovely your organization has been disabled API error. Going on 4+ days of no response from Anthropic support.

Warning to all - DO NOT continue to give a company that refuses to provide basic customer support your hard earned dollars. I get it nothing else compares to Claude Code but Anthropic will continue to operate this way if we continue to blindly give them money.

Exactly the same - I am wondering if there's an issue with the subscription system rather with this being related to a ban. There's zero reasons for me to get a ban. I never hit the limits since the sonnet4.5 release and my work is purely professional. I bet something else is going on.

Just to provide an update here, I have tried to contacting Anthropic through support but got no human answer yet. Meanwhile I have opened an appeal at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdtyS8ONgH8vi6NrUpQ2lfsjSPGTZ1bW_i-E7XtGDcDZxbKeQ/viewform - to be honest I am not 100% sure this error is an account ban or some sort of error. I find very strange that an account ban still allows you to subscribe and provides no information when you are actually banned. In any case, this feels like a limbo moment where one has a subscription but no access to any model due to the 400 error - not in Claude Code or Claude.ai. If anyone gets any feedback or finds what's going on, it would be great to know what's up.

I've reached out through every possible channel but haven't received any response. I also haven't gotten a refund. After numerous attempts, I've given up and accepted that I was blatantly robbed of $100.

I got the same issue here. I thought my payment failed, so I retried again this morning. The account was still blocked in the afternoon. It seems like I’ve been robbed of $400. There is not warning email, contact support guide me to the stupid AI agent.

Same here, refund without any warning or prior notice, account downgraded to the free plan, but even on that plan, I can't write anything, Claude keeps throwing up “This organization has been disabled.” Now I don't know whether to create a new account or if it will also be banned. I only use Claude Code for programming, and I doubt I could violate any terms of service.

For anyone facing this issue, here are details I've discovered so far about the so-called "Automated Review/Monitor System":

  • Anthropic seems to block VPN and data-center IPs; they also maintain a comprehensive IP database.
  • They appear to check for WebRTC and DNS leaks.
  • If a payment card was used on an account that was banned, that card may cause a new account to be blocked or its payment to be rejected.

We can protect new accounts by using residential IPs (purchased via proxies), blocking outgoing UDP ports used for WebRTC, and sandboxing the OS to avoid suspicious activity.
You can use https://browserleaks.com to check your IP and detect leaks.

Do I then understand that a second account with different email, different phone number and different credit card number does not work? Is this because of the leaks above? Did you manage to get another account working? Last thing I want is to lose money registering an account, getting it banned and not getting a refund each time I try.

Our account was disabled after funding an API account on platform.claude.com and attempting to send a request from n8n cloud instance. We as well as n8n cloud instance are in allowed countries list in EU and I didn't find anything how we could possibly violate their terms and conditions. The request we send was just requesting content for a social media post related to our company.

My first appeal was rejected, so I've send the second one today.

We did not receive refund.

I had the same issue. My monthly 20X plan renewed as usual, and then I received a refund email I didn’t think much of it at the time. The next day, I tried to use CC, and it wasn’t working. I assumed it was because my subscription wasn’t active anymore, but even after resubscribing, the problem remained.

I submitted an appeal, but I haven’t heard anything back, and it’s been over two weeks now. I never received any violation email, and I’ve always used the service moderately. My account has been active with them for a long time.

Even the web version of CC doesn’t work now, and their support has been useless. I’m sure if they reply, it’ll just be the same generic response again.

I have good news. My account was just unbanned.

I contacted support and filed the appeal form the day I was banned. I received a message 48 hours ago - 7 days later - from support saying that I should fill the appeal form. I said I already did. The support team replied a day later saying the issue would be looked at. A few hours later the account was unbanned. Total of 9 days to get my account back.

Yes I did and I waited... and waited... and their robot said they are busy that they will get back to me when they are ready via email, and then I got this generic message

They refuse to refund or provide an explanation as to the reason of the ban. There arrogance and stonewalling is shocking!

I have read and re-read their usage policy and there is nothing that I have done that can be remotely considered and violation!

I’ve been using the Max 5 subscription for months on my personal account and personal MacBook without any issues. However, I’ve had two work accounts banned while using my work MacBook, even though my usage was the same — the only difference was the device.

My colleagues and I tried to figure out what might be causing this, and the only thing we could think of is that my work MacBook has a VPN set up. My coworkers use Windows machines without this VPN, and they’ve had no problems using their accounts. My personal MacBook does not have a VPN also.

That's might be one way but in my case, never used a VPN and was same device always and same external ip. I've used another cc in my name though.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago. It’s absolutely a mistaken automated banning. It’s so frustrating because I love Claude and use it in my workflow so much. I’m waiting for the response to my appeal. I can’t believe they nuked my account.

It feels quite strange to get banned so quickly without any notice.

I subscribed to the Pro plan on October 27 and used it briefly with the mobile app and the Claude Code CLI integration in VS Code. I didn’t use it much, but I found it really cool.

Then, on the morning of October 28, I received a refund for my subscription — without any explanation. I tried contacting support but didn’t get a reply.

On October 29, I subscribed again, and as soon as I tried using Claude Code, I got the message:

“This organization has been disabled.”

That’s a pretty discouraging experience for a new customer.

My max 20x account was banned and disabled today and like many I filled out the forms etc and am using this for normal stuff. I am really pissed that I can’t get my data out of Claude now I had presentations and research that is now inaccessible. Why can't I at least access my conversations/data?

For me it was 3 wks since filling the form to processing it, but they rejected the request and kept the organization disabled.

SAME BUG !!! I got a very strange series of events . 1/ After renewing my Max Plan I continued to work for 5 hours 2/ Next day my plan showed a "Free Plan". 3/ I thought it is some glitch and paid again for Max 4/ Then I got the "Organization has been disabled" message after I renewed my subscription 2nd of Max Plan. 5/ Both payments show on the Claude Portal and I have both invoices. 6/ After appealing and sending email - I got a very generic response. So I paid 2 times and still no resolutions f any kind, no warnings, no message.

Same problem here. I subscribed to Claude Pro for testing the new Claude Code Web as an alternative to Codex. Worked till 10pm on my personal hobby project last day - this morning I got the message that my account has been disabled and I couldnt log in - neither received my money back till now. Not a nice way to handle new customers!

The same issue was encountered, but instead of "disabling my organisation," they permitted me to repurchase my plan. There was no indication that I had been disabled or banned until I attempted to send a message, at which point they suddenly informed me that my organisation had been disabled. My appeal was denied, and they also declined to issue a refund.

Same issue here , got suspended after 2 months of MAX usage with claude code cli.
I think the issue is that I was using the new claude web and the cli at the same time on differnet devices and also on mobile to check progress.
Got refunded and today I did the appeal.

Yep I also got refunded randomly, but I rebought since there was 0 indication I was banned or suspended, and now I have rebought the $200 plan I can't use it, and they denied my refund or appeal,

I just got banned this morning.
I am not clear what happpened. I have been using for months my MAX subscription for personal projects, and also for a few client projects which I have to use VPN. The only change in my workflow was the fact that I tested Claude Code Web accesssing it from mobile and different IP addresses.

I've submitted an appeal, but as pretty much everyone mentioned above, no reply so far.

Just happened to me. I just upgraded from Max 5 to Max 20 and about 15 minutes later it stopped working and got the ban hammer. I called Amex and the charge went through fine and then about 30 minutes later, the charge was refunded with emailed receipt. I sent in the appeal, but yeah. I was doing academic research and just ran out of usage... Really crazy.

Also banned, same "organization disabled" banner as above. No explanation email, no relevant FAQs, no illicit activity (I was exclusively developing OSS at [github.com/plasticbeachllc/dolphin](url)). I was allowed to repurchase twice while getting automatic refunds. I sometimes spun up parallel sessions but never double digits and never once hit my usage quota.

@abumalick Thank you for your post here. I have tried to get my account reinstated by sending the appeal form twice - I've pointed everything that could confirm there wasn't anything that could cause breaking the Terms of Usage and what potentially could cause that automated ban. After seeing @abumalick message about sending the appeal form and telling I've checked the ToU and based on that I haven't break any rule, after almost week (for meed those appeal form reviews are always Friday-Sat nights) my account has been reinstated.

If someone else try filling that appeal form this way and it works - share that to confirm it's a way to go.

PS: I still think it's the Claude Code on Web usage in VERY early beta (few hours after allowing access) caused the ban - used it on mobile in different location and possible it was threaten as account sharing etc. Even if it was it - it should be fixed now.

Too heap more insult to the injury of disabling my organization, Claude just charged me an additional $200 today. Note the my account has already be disabled for a month and my appeals have been rejected. When I tired their customer support demanding a refund, I got a told simply that I am ineligible for a refund. The level customer disrespect is unfathomable!

They may not be just stealing your money. They might be stealing your chats as it may contain you business plan, innovation etc. They lock you out of this and don't give a copy and they are not revealing where it went.

I sadly have to report an even stranger problem. I'm a Claude Max 5x customer. My account was auto-suspended last week. I appealed through the form. Three days later I got email saying my suspension had been in error and my account was reinstated.

Unfortunately, I can't log in to any Anthropic service (web, app, console, Code). I get the same "your account has been disabled" message. I don't even get to the password or email link stage.

I've gone through the generic support email and got an automated response that then triggered two more copies of the "your account has been reinstated" message. Unfortunately, some part of the Anthropic stack still has the "suspended account" bit set and I can't get access.

Super frustrating. For all the reasons cited here, I don't want to open another account and risk immediate suspension.

On top of that, I'm developing Claude Skills using their underlying virtual machine, as well as Claude's vision capabilities. I don't know any alternative that provides the whole package. I've been a very content customer and I just want to get past this.

Just to mention recently my refund landed in my account and some days later my account was reinstated. I submitted my appeal twice for extra measure. So, there is hope.

Edit: It took about a week for account to be reinstated. Also, the one appeal was rejected while the other was accepted, so might be worth appealing more than once.

I've paid for Claude Pro in August 2025 and my account was disabled yesterday. This was a personal account. This is a second account, which was disabled. (The first one was a business account and was disabled after just couple of hours and a few API calls from n8n - mentioned earlier in this thread).

I've received refund for the subscription. I was using Claude desktop app and occasionally Claude Code. I'm not aware I did anything which could violate Terms of Service. What could possibly be an issue is that I was using VPN sometimes and used anonymized email to register.

I've send an appeal today and as EU citizen formally asked to provide my data under Article 15 of the GDPR if the suspension is permanent. I had some project related information in the chats...

This is probably because I was using a single account from multiple devices.
It seems like Claude wants each person to have their own individual subscription.
For me, once I canceled and created a new separate account, it started working normally again.
I requested a refund, and although it takes some time, it should come back.
From now on, I won’t share my account with others 😌

My team was regularly sending frequent requests to a single account from multiple devices at the same time.
A few months ago, when our account got banned, it happened in clusters along with other users, so it might have been that we were borderline compliant with Claude’s rules and just barely avoided detection—or perhaps they simply overlooked us out of whimsy.
This is purely speculation, though.

That's great! Just ran into this today. Was building agents and skills and stopped to take the dog for a walk. Set Claude to work on a few issues using git actions from my phone as I walked tbe neighborhood and after getting home I found myself logged out of Claude code. Tried to log in and saw I was banned. I work with class action attorneys to identify potential class actions. A private company has the right to deny you service for whatever reason they want and really don't have to give you a reason. Unless it is discriminatory or a few other causes of action, there really is no cause of action.

I wanted to use oh-my-opencode/opencode with my Max20 subscription, but am not after hearing about these random bans. I am easily getting 10x productivity from OMO/OpenCode. OpenCode is clearly a superior product to Claude Code IMO. Anthropic should purchase them.... If a user is not abusing the service, it really should make no difference as to whether or not you use the coder of your choice. Just my 2 cents.

As far as detection, It's pretty easy for Anthropic to look at how you OAuth and the calls it makes to the api endpoint and figure out what you are doing. I've used a VPN in the past, by mistake, while using Claude Code and so far have not had an issue. I used OMO for a little bit until I heard about people getting banned. I would venture to guess it is not related to OMO, but why take a chance?

As far as options are concerned:

  • I have been using Google Ultra plan with OMO and have had zero rate limiting or usage limit issues yet. Maybe a few small rate limits, but using gemini 3 flash..... I'm considering dropping my claude code plan.
  • Verdent.ai has an API with the big 3 which is supposedly affordable. I still have no idea how their credit system works though.
  • If I was going to use agentic workflows in production, I would use GLM4.7 as it is comparable price wise.
  • A final option is to just set up a residential static proxy, credit card with different address and maybe Camoufox to sign up on the website if they use browser fingerprinting.....

At the end of the day, I just hope Google gets their tool calling right and beats Anthropic. I do think they are the long term winner in AI for too many reasons to discuss..

Sure. Denying service is one thing. Taking my money, denying me service, and then not refunding me for services that were never rendered is another story entirely. They aren't just banning people -- they're stealing.

MY APPEAL WAS DENIED. Anthropic is a joke. They are literally destroying their own business model with how they treat customers. As soon as a valid alternative exists, all of us will never use their services again, eventhough all of us seem to be once enthusiastic fans of anthropic and claude. We are builders, we built amazing things with claude code and then these people denied us that pleasure for no apparent reason at all.

Anthropic's customer service and appeal process is the worst I have encountered in my 36 years on this planet. The company that wants to 'replace people' can't even replace a single customer service worker and needs a month to process and DENY an appeal. Dissappointed is putting it lightly, I am bewildered at the amateurist stance of Anthropic concerning this.

I assisted my colleagues with the renewal of their Claude Pro, Claude Max5x, and Claude Max20x accounts. However, some of these accounts were subsequently banned, and we did not receive any warning emails from Claude regarding potential violations or anomalies.

I’m having the exact same issue.

I had a normal account, then upgraded to Pro, used it активно and hit the limit in about a week. After that I upgraded to Max 20x and right after payment my account got banned.

I sent an appeal but got no response. Then I tried creating new accounts and every time I try to pay it charges and then refunds within seconds and the account gets instantly banned.

Looks like some kind of automatic fraud flag or something tied to my account or payment method.

I wasn’t doing anything weird, just using it for development.

The anthropic team is hostile, stupid and it explains why we must all move to open weights models indefinitely. Yesterday, I hit my Pro usage limit and wanted to upgrade to the Max 5x plan. Unfortunately, I couldn't log in at first due to a system outage. After I finally managed to log in—and before I was even able to subscribe—my account was banned.

I then created a new account to subscribe to the Max 5x plan directly, but it got banned in just one day. I am guessing your system linked the two accounts by the same credit card.

Anyway, I am strictly running a single session in Claude Code and only using it to fix my resume. I didn't integrate with any third-party APIs. This is outrageous. This is what happens when you rely on AI for account judgments. A total waste of time and highly inefficient service.

I strongly suggest subscribing to ollama and using sota openweight models and also using open models to be integrated into coding eda tools instead of claude code. The proprietary ones are barely 10% better in some tests and similar or worse in others. Support the open models, just pay for compute not for locking up the models

Same pattern as the OP. Paid Claude Code user, account suspended within the first week of use. I have submitted an appeal via the official Anthropic safeguards form but am adding my case here as a secondary escalation, as I have critical project work stored in my account.

My situation

  • Plan changes: Made multiple plan change attempts between 5x and 20x in a short window — this may be the primary trigger
  • VPN on mobile: Had a VPN active on my mobile device, which may have flagged geographic anomalies
  • Use during suspension window: Browsing/travel research via the Claude in Chrome extension, and building a personal passion project (People Like You — a chronic pain management platform built through a disability tech program called The Remarkables). I had recently set up a Claude Project with product context and persona information to assist with the build, and was running agentic loops and skills against it.
  • Possible age-classifier false positive: I may have been caught by Anthropic's recently introduced age-verification classifier, which has been reported as producing false positives for adult users.

  1. Does the billing/plan upgrade flow (especially repeated 5x ↔ 20x changes) appear as a known trigger for these suspensions?
  2. Is there any way to retrieve or export Claude Project data while an appeal is under review?

I have submitted an appeal via the official Anthropic safeguards form but am adding my case here as a secondary escalation, as I have critical project work stored in my account. ### My situation Plan changes: Made multiple plan change attempts between 5x and 20x in a short window — this may be the primary trigger VPN on mobile: Had a VPN active on my mobile device, which may have flagged geographic anomalies Use during suspension window: Browsing/travel research via the Claude in Chrome extension, and building a personal passion project (_People Like You_ — a chronic pain management platform built through a disability tech program called The Remarkables). I had recently set up a Claude Project with product context and persona information to assist with the build, and was running agentic loops and skills against it. Well, in my case:

  • never used a VPN
  • never changed plan
  • always same PC
  • always same city even
  • always claude code
  • not swapping plans
  • codding only PHP + Python, no sensitive data or images that would trigger any policy.

Got suspended the day I changed the payment from CreditCard to Apple pay, after 9 straight months of use.

Company created an account for work, another totally different Card (company one) exactly same behaviour as before that account never got blocked.

My totally uninformed guess, it's something to do with the payment method, maybe some fraud detection that triggers false positives!?

This is wild — paying for Max 5x and getting your account disabled? That's the subscription model failing users in real time.

For anyone looking for an alternative that won't lock you out: Franklin uses a completely different pricing approach called YOPO (You Only Pay Outcome):

  • No subscription that can be "disabled" — you fund a USDC wallet (Base or Solana), that's it
  • No account that can be locked — your wallet address IS your identity, no email/phone/KYC required
  • No rate limits — your balance is the only cap
  • You only pay for completed tasks (provider cost + 5%), not for access

The wallet can't be "disabled" by a provider. When you have USDC, you have access. Period.

Dear All,

I am also facing the same issue, after doing renewal of the Claude Max 5X subscription for the second time, my account gets banned for an unknown violation (which I am not aware of and I did not violated anything).

I've been a loyal Claude user for over 2 years with the $20 plan and recently upgraded to the Max 5X subscription.

However, the next day of the renewal of the Max 5X plan, I am robbed of USD 708 (236*3) of my hard earned money. The USD708 transactions/payments I did not do, I immediately reached out to Anthropic support, but of no use and I am not sure, whether I will get the USD708 back or not.

As the account is now banned, I am facing a loss of USD708 + USD118 = USD 826 and I am not able to do anything for my work and projects. I have tried all the mediums to highlight the issue, but of no use.

This is a personal account and I don't know, what is going on behind all this and the methodology for banning an organization and also don't know, why no one (a human reviewer) is responding to the issues of the genuine users.

Can someone from Anthropic look into this issue and resolve the grievances of the actual users.

It seems any new subscribe is disabled, the option to migrate from a free plan to a paid one is disabled for pro and max on my side, no matter if i change Browser, clear cache, cookies or even use Vpn.

Same issue here. Account suspended mid-March 2026 after
billing issue during plan switch ($200 → $100).
Primary usage: Claude Code CLI, multiple terminal sessions,
Python scripting — all legitimate work.

Appeal submitted March 17, 2026. Three follow-ups.
Zero response from a human. Nearly 2 months of waiting.

I have an even more serious issue:

  • Account arbitrarily suspended without any reason in late April 2026;
  • Account REINSTATED with apologies from the Safety Team on 30 April;
  • Pro annual subscription NOT RESTORED!

I primarily use the Claude AI website and make light use of Claude Code.

Already checked a similar issue (https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/24235) and already reported it to Anthropic support.

After contacting support, email, etc., the Fin Agent stated four times that it was transferring the conversation to a Human Agent, but I haven't received a response in 20 days!

Please help. I am trapped in a nightmare loop.

I have been user of Claude max 20 since 6 months. Today, I renewed my subscription it went through perfectly, and money was taken from my card. But the exact minute I paid, they system locked me out with the "This organization has been disabled" bug i got the suspension email

To make it worse, the support AI ("Fin") is completely useless. It keeps auto-replying over and over with the same link (claude.ai/restricted). But clicking that link is broken it just loops me forever back to the login page (claude.ai/new). I tried emailing the billing support, but I just got a kickback message saying the billing email is not monitored anymore.

My business and my active projects are completely paralyzed right now because of billing mistake on claude end. Can a real human please look at this, verify my payment, and manually turn my account back on?

I was on Claude's free plan. I have never used any illegal or harmful prompts that could trigger Anthropic or any AI platform's terms of service. Then I purchased the Claude Max 5x plan. After purchasing, I sent a few messages like “hi” and “hello”. I also worked on an AI language translator app and made some UI improvements. After that, I went to eat. When I came back, I found that my account had been banned after an automated review.

Note that this was a completely fresh installation of Claude Code. My PC also has a fresh Windows install, and my IP is clean. I have no previous violations on any AI platform. I am deeply frustrated, and I have been waiting for a week now without any response. I also have not received any update on my appeal. They said I would get a response by June 22.

I have all the proof and can provide anything needed to show that I haven’t broken any terms of service or done anything wrong.

Hello everyone, today the same thing that has happened to a lot of yall happened to me. I left Claude running overnight with my GSD plugin. I had a Max 5x plan.

When i wake up to go to work and check my emails, the first one i see is a refund notice, when go to reinstate my payment it denied me saying i cannot upgrade from a banned organization. Out of nowhere. Then i saw the email saying i was suspended saying:

Hello,

An internal investigation of suspicious signals associated with your account indicates a violation of our [Usage Policy]. As a result, we have revoked your access to Claude.

To appeal our decision, please fill out this [form).

I can see some of my stuff could've been flagged and i used Claude for my daily workflow and automations. But i've never used it on malicious intent, when a prompt got flagged i never insisted. I was already CVP approved and was using Claude for like months and never got even an email saying anything. I've already submitted the form and currently waiting for a reponse, but it has been hours already and still nothing, can't even contact someone, can't know if it was because of my work or this billing issue (it could be because my card had no limit at the time of running the plugin overnight).

This ban was brutal for me, since i didn't get a single notice beforehand to prepare for a migration and it has seriously disrupted my job workflow (and i also used it to do uni projects for my girlfriend).

I'm aware the use of Claude for my line of work is dangerous and with the recent news of Fable/Mythos pull or even the National Security topic being hot i could be on the line, but at least i'd have liked a notice saying they're pulling my CVP authorization or that i'm being monitored by their team. But instead i got nothing, just a ban on the start of the week to mess with my agenda.

I'd really like to know the average response time you guys got and if i should already be looking for alternatives.

Same issue here — Max 20x plan subscriber via Apple App Store.

  • Account disabled on June 26, 2026
  • Error: "This organization has been disabled"
  • Subscribed to Pro in March 2026, upgraded to Max 20x on April 11, 2026
  • Used normally for ~2.5 months with no issues or warnings
  • Suddenly disabled on June 26 — not after renewal or plan change
  • Used Claude Code for software development and quantitative research
  • Sole user of this account, never shared
  • Web login and Claude Code CLI both broken

This is different from the immediate-after-subscription cases, but the
end result is the same — a paying Max user locked out with no explanation.

The list of people who have been ripped off by Anthropic will only keep growing, and no one ever receives a response from them.

I have completely stopped using Anthropic’s services and am actively warning my friends and colleagues to avoid them, so they don’t lose their money without any explanation.

The truly unacceptable practice is this: they don’t lock your account before you activate a paid plan. Yes, they deliberately don’t do that. If you genuinely violated their terms of service, they should send a notice and block access as soon as the violation is detected. But that’s not what happens. Instead, they wait until you activate the plan, take your money, and then lock your account. Anthropic’s goal appears to be simply taking that money.

i have since migrated to z.ai's glm 5.2. i have found a way to use the model inside claude code cli.

my ban will complete a week on monday and still no answer.

the only reason id go back to hire anthropic's services would be with re-release of fable 5.

after going on reddit and seeing a couple of things i have come to a couple of conclusions/predictions:

  1. it seems to be a ban wave, a lot of other people were hit with this
  1. apparently anthropic is trying to re-release fable 5, but in the mean time they are breaking everything. accompanied by the ban wave there is a plethora of new issues appearing from other users

Anyone get any response with success? I dont think they even really look into it or care and thats why they immediately refund you, becsuse they know youre banned, period. The submit for review is a gas lightening just like the "contact support" fake link right below the form to try and make you feel like maybe you'll grt help, but I dont think they even look into it or respond. I was singing up for 4 accounts for our employees and team went through fine, then, all our company accounts banned... 23 of them instantly. We didnt do anything wrong, been paying for our subscriptions faithfully for 6 months, our team uses it extensively for day to day business tasks. Now, on Monday Im going to have to lay off a lot of people because this all American company is hindering the other legitimate smaller companies trying to make an honest living. Are they wanting me to use Deepseek or something?.. Ive been good loyal customer switched from OpenAI, now I'm being persecuted with no possibility for a savior or even the possibility thereof, no response no matter the avenue. Just add us to the unemployment queue i guess... thanks anthropic..
