[BUG] Recent Automatic Update - Performance Hit

Resolved 💬 6 comments Opened Aug 2, 2025 by un33k Closed Jan 6, 2026

Environment

  • Platform: MacOS
  • Claude CLI version: 1.0.67 (Claude Code)
  • Operating System: macOS (15.5)
  • Terminal: iTerm2

Bug Description

After the recent upgrade to Claude Code 1.0.67, the input box becomes nearly unusable while Claude is processing. Severe performance degradation occurs, despite running on a Mac M4 Max with ample system resources (CPU/RAM). This was not the case before the update.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Ensure Claude CLI is at version 1.0.67: claude --version
  2. Issue a prompt to Claude Code that requires processing time
  3. Attempt to type in the input field while Claude is working

Expected Behavior

The input field should remain responsive so users can queue or draft their next request.

Actual Behavior

The input field becomes laggy or locked. It's technically still active, but practically unusable due to latency and UI glitches.

Additional Context

This behavior started immediately after the upgrade. A simple sub agent was added, but shows no signs of being activated. Previous versions of Claude Code did not exhibit this issue.
