[BUG] claude code is broken, unable to use in vscode

What's Wrong?

unable to use claude code in vscode. doctor is indicating the status is fine.
Claude code pro is giving me There's an issue with the selected model (claude-sonnet-4-6). It may not exist or you may not have access to it. Run --model to pick a different model. this is the same no matter the result.
do not know what to do

What Should Happen?

claude code pro in vsextension should be able to work and reply to my messages

vscode extension or teminal. none of them works. it was working till 14th April 2026 and suddenly stopped today
