What's Wrong?

Hey everyone / Anthropic team,

My account (jckcouto@gmail.com) just got suspended today, and I'm hoping to get some visibility on what looks like a weird billing glitch.

I was literally in the middle of trying to purchase a paid subscription when I got an error saying "Cannot start subscription for a banned organization." Right after that, I received an email from the Safeguards Team saying my account was suspended due to "suspicious signals." 😳

I'm a digital marketer based in Brazil, and I use Claude every single day for standard work stuff—building web apps, coding, and creating client content. I definitely haven't done anything to violate the Usage Policy, so it really seems like an automated false positive triggered by the payment processing system.

I've already submitted the official Account Ban Appeal form, but I'm posting here because losing access to Claude is completely halting my daily work and affecting my clients.

If anyone from the team sees this, could you please take a human look at my account? I'd really appreciate a review and some clarification on what triggered the automated filter so I can get back to work 🥲

What Should Happen?

I should be able to upgrade my active account to a paid subscription without the billing system triggering an automated safeguard ban during checkout.

UI Error on claude.ai during the checkout process:
Cannot start subscription for a banned organization

Automated email received from the Anthropic Safeguards Team immediately after the UI error:

"An internal investigation of suspicious signals associated with your account indicates a violation of our Usage Policy. As a result, we have revoked your access to Claude."

Steps to Reproduce

Log in to claude.ai using my standard account (jckcouto@gmail.com)
Navigate to the billing section to purchase a paid subscription plan
Attempt to process the payment/upgrade
See the "banned organization" error appear on the screen
Receive the automated account suspension email moments later

Additional Information

This looks like a severe false positive triggered specifically by the payment gateway or billing system. I rely on Claude daily for legitimate development work—like building automation tools and Next.js applications—so having my account instantly suspended at the exact moment I tried to pay for a subscription is a massive workflow blocker. I have already submitted the official Account Ban Appeal form today (March 27, 2026) for jckcouto@gmail.com, but I am logging this here as a system bug since a legitimate checkout attempt should not trigger an automated security ban
