[BUG] Claude Code Mac Desktop App — messages sent but no response, screen stays blank

What's Wrong?
In the Claude Code tab of the Claude Mac Desktop App, every message I send appears to be sent and received, but nothing happens afterward — the screen stays completely blank (no response, no thinking indicator, nothing). This happens on every new conversation I start.
The issue has been persisting since yesterday morning (March 19, 2026). I have tried over 20 new conversations with the same result every time.
Note: Related Issue
This bug is occurring simultaneously with a second issue I'm reporting separately: repeated connection timeouts and OAuth token expiry in VS Code / Claude Code CLI (see related bug report). Both issues started at the same time on March 19, 2026, suggesting a shared infrastructure cause.
What Should Happen?
Claude should respond to my messages normally in the Code tab.
Error Messages/Logs
No visible error. The message shows as sent/received but the rest of the screen remains blank (see attached screenshot).
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Claude Mac Desktop App
- Go to the Code tab
- Start a new conversation
- Type any message and send
- Message appears as sent — screen stays blank, no response
