[FEATURE] Keyboard shortcut for hanging commands

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

We should have a simple keyboard shortcut that cancels the current request and instead puts in a message that says "What went wrong? How should we continue?" that users can use when they observe a command to be hanging when it shouldn't. This is something I manually do many times and I find it to have good effect. Open to alternative suggestions, but we should assume that Claude will occasionally get stuck on things it didn't expect.

Proposed Solution

ctrl-{anything} that hits escape+insert-new-message("What went wrong? How should we continue?")+enter
Possible prefix: "This looks like it's hanging, " / "This looks like it's taking longer than expected "
