[BUG] Claude code is hanging on every command.

What's Wrong?

Claude Code is hanging on every command. Inside the Mac application, it hangs. I have to Command+Q to close the entire application down, come back, and then, if it runs the same command again, sometimes it works, sometimes it works on the third attempt, making the application completely unusable in Code Mode.

In the terminal, every command that I enter hangs. I press Escape, then type Continue, and it continues on, but it does that for every single new command that I enter. Once it starts, it does not stop after the Escape+Continue, but every new command will hang. The timer keeps going up. The tokens freeze and stop, and nothing else happens.

This only started about a week ago, I think on Monday this week.

Pattern: new Bash tool calls freeze on first and second attempt, third attempt succeeds after Command+Q restarts

What Should Happen?

Normally I enter a command and it just works. You shouldn't be hanging like this. It's making my workflow in Terminal twice as long, and it's making the desktop application in code unusable.

Error Messages/Logs

I'm not getting any error messages or anything.

Steps to Reproduce

It happens every single time, regardless of what I'm working on or which one of my projects it is. It just happens. I've been through two days of troubleshooting using Core Chat, trying different things:

• I've reset the cache.
• I've reset the app.
• I've updated the app.
• I've reset the computer.
• I've played the cache of the computer.

I don't know what else to do.

It happens with both sonnet and opus.

Additional Information

I've spent a couple of days running with Claude Chat to try to resolve the issue. Basically, we've cleared the cache, updated the app, reset the computer, and cleared the computer's cache. That's basically everything that he told me, even that Chat gave up. I'm running a MacBook Pro with an M3 and 128 GB of RAM, so I'm running quite a powerful computer.
