iPad app: artifacts open in a narrow pane (about 1/3 of the screen), no full-screen view as on iPhone
What happens
In the Claude iPadOS app, opening an artifact from a Claude Code session (a claude.ai/artifact/... link in a Remote Control session's reply) shows it in a preview pane that takes only about a third of the screen width. The rest of the screen stays on the conversation. A dashboard or mockup page laid out for a tablet or desktop is squeezed into a phone-sized column, so it cannot really be reviewed on the iPad.
On the iPhone the same link opens the artifact using the whole screen, which works well.
Expected
On iPad the artifact should be able to use the full screen (or at least a resizable pane / a full-screen toggle), like on iPhone, so pages can be seen at the iPad's real width.
Steps
- From a Claude Code session (here a Remote Control session from Linux, Claude Code 2.1.294), publish an HTML artifact with responsive layout.
- Open the session in the Claude app on an iPad in landscape and tap the artifact link.
- The artifact opens in a narrow side pane (about 1/3 of the width); there is no way to expand it to full screen.
Environment: Claude app for iPadOS (current App Store version, October 2026), Max plan.
