Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am a paying Claude Pro subscriber, but Anthropic's support backend (Fin AI Agent)
repeatedly identifies my account as Free, which blocks me from reaching human support.

  • My account (zsombrero@gmail.com) has an active Pro subscription, confirmed by the

app and Settings > Billing, with no failed or pending payment.

  • In two separate Fin support conversations, the agent's internal org lookup showed

"Free" while other parts of the system showed "Pro" for the same account.

  • Fin explicitly confirmed it cannot route or escalate the conversation to a human

agent, and that this Pro/Free mismatch may be the reason.

  • This also blocks resolution of two related issues: (1) business Tax ID / VAT

details not saving on the Billing page despite successful 3D Secure, and (2)
usage quota being consumed without corresponding activity.

This matches the pattern already reported in #57594, #66558, #45110, #45890 — Fin
checking the Claude Console/API organization instead of the Claude.ai consumer
subscription billing record.

Conversation IDs: 215475772319994, 215476022957096

What Should Happen?

My account's plan status should be consistently recognized as Pro across all
Anthropic systems (app, billing, and support/Fin's internal lookup), and
Pro subscribers should be able to reach human support as documented, instead
of being stuck in an unescalatable Fin loop due to this mismatch.

Error Messages/Logs

Fin AI Agent, Sept 20 conversation:
"my records show your organization on a Free plan, which doesn't match the
Pro plan mentioned earlier"

Fin AI Agent, Sept 20 conversation (later):
"the system shows a Free/Pro mismatch in the backend, that conflict may be
affecting whether human routing is available for your account"

Fin AI Agent, Sept 20 conversation:
"I don't have the ability to route this conversation to Product Support or
any human agent. That routing capability isn't available in this conversation."

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open claude.ai while logged into a Pro subscriber account.
  2. Open the Fin support chat (Get Help) and start a new conversation

about a Billing/Account issue.

  1. Ask Fin to check your account's plan status.
  2. Fin's internal organization lookup reports "Free," while Settings >

Billing and the app itself show an active Pro subscription with no
failed payment.

  1. Ask Fin to escalate or route the conversation to a human agent.
  2. Fin confirms it has no ability to do so, and suggests this Pro/Free

mismatch may be the cause.

This has now happened in two separate conversations (IDs above), over
more than two weeks, with no human response.

Additional Information

Impact: because of this mismatch, I cannot reach human support for two
other unresolved, time-sensitive account issues on the same account
(business VAT ID not saving on Billing page since Sept 3, and an
unexplained usage quota drain on Sept 20-21). Both conversations ended
with Fin confirming it cannot escalate.

See Fin's quotes above confirming the Free/Pro mismatch and inability to escalate.
Screenshots below, in order, 19:49-19:51: session usage rising sharply within about 90 seconds of a new 5-hour window opening, with no activity on my side. Weekly usage also increases over this same window without corresponding activity. Exact percentages are visible on each screenshot's timestamp.
