Problem Statement

Claude.ai's chat interface has simple thumbs up/down icons under each response to give quick feedback. Claude Code (both the CLI and the desktop app's Code tab) doesn't have an equivalent — the only way to send feedback today is filing a full GitHub issue. Most feedback on a given response is too lightweight to justify writing up an issue, so that signal just doesn't get sent at all, even though the harness clearly has the context (the specific response, the session, the task) to make it a single click.

Proposed Solution

Add a lightweight thumbs up/down control next to each assistant response in Claude Code, similar to claude.ai — optionally with a small free-text box for a one-line reason. It doesn't need to be as rich as a full bug report; the goal is just to lower the bar for sending quick signal.

Alternative Solutions

Currently the only option is opening a full GitHub issue, which is too much friction for a quick "this was helpful" or "this wasn't quite right" signal.

Priority

Low - Nice to have

Feature Category

Use Case Example

Example scenario:

  1. I ask Claude Code to help troubleshoot a laptop issue
  2. It walks through the diagnosis and fixes it well
  3. With this feature, I could just click a thumbs up to signal that
  4. Right now the only way to say so is writing a full GitHub issue, which isn't worth it for a quick compliment
