What's Wrong?
[BUG] /feedback: send silently does nothing, review is truncated, and "0 to dismiss" turns the whole feature off
Version: Claude Code 2.1.273 · macOS (darwin arm64) · 2026-09-17
Every action offered by the Claude-drafted feedback card does something other than
what its label says. The net effect is that no report can be filed through it —
including the reports about it, which is why this is a GitHub issue.
1. Send does nothing.
Steps: have a queued draft → /feedback → press 2 → the last line changes toSend without reviewing (full draft + env, no transcript)? 2 to send · Esc to back
→ press 2 again.
Expected: the draft is sent, and the UI says so.
Actual: no confirmation, no error. Every file in ~/.claude/feedback/drafts/*.json
still reads "status": "queued". Repeated across 5 drafts and many presses.
2. Review cannot show the draft.1 to review renders the same truncated text as the card (title cut at es…, body
at expa…), with no scrolling or paging. Esc closes it with no statement that the
draft was kept, so it reads as destroyed. (The files do survive.)
3. 0 to dismiss is not a dismiss.
Pressing 0 on a card opens Turn off Claude-drafted feedback? 0 to turn off ·. The key advertised as a per-card dismiss is the entry point to
Esc to keep
disabling the entire feature. A user clearing several cards would switch feedback
drafting off without ever intending to.
4. Keypresses silently go to the prompt.
When the card is not the focused element, 2 is typed into the message line
instead, with nothing indicating the card did not receive it.
Also, the confirmation is invisible. Pressing 2 changes only the last line of
the card, in the same dim style as the key legend it replaces; the title and body
above are unchanged. Confirming is visually identical to the key doing nothing.
Suggested fixes: make send report success or failure; show the whole draft on
review (scroll/page); label 0 for what it does and move "turn off drafting"
elsewhere; acknowledge the first 2 explicitly; say "kept, still queued" when the
panel closes.
Evidence: five draft files, all "status": "queued" after repeated sends, at~/.claude/feedback/drafts/ (ids 3066bcce…, 47f45e88…, 8118cece…, f3ad7330…,
feed9953…). Three of them are reports about this same UI.
Context: the user is not a developer and drives the CLI from an assistant's
instructions. Roughly half an hour went into trying to file one report, and
nothing was filed.
What Should Happen?
Send actually sends and says so, review shows the whole draft, and 0 dismisses the card rather than offering to turn the feature off.
Error Messages/Logs
Steps to Reproduce
- Run /feedback with at least one queued draft.
- Press 2, then 2 again at "Send without reviewing?".
- Look in ~/.claude/feedback/drafts/*.json — every file still says "status": "queued".
