Problem Statement

Problem

Prompt suggestions (the grey ghost text in the composer) can only be accepted
with Tab or Right arrow, per
https://code.claude.com/docs/en/interactive-mode#prompt-suggestions

On a phone neither key exists. In the Claude app's Code tab I tried:

  • tapping the ghost text itself — nothing happens
  • tapping send with the composer otherwise empty — sends nothing, the

suggestion is not submitted

So the suggestion is visible but unacceptable. The only workarounds are an
external keyboard, or an on-screen keyboard with an arrow row (Gboard's
text-editing panel); the stock iOS keyboard has neither.

Why it matters

Mobile is where typing costs the most, so a suggested next prompt is worth
more there than on desktop — and it's the one surface where it can't be taken.

Proposed

Either would fix it:

  • make the ghost text tappable — tap to prefill the composer (the Tab

behaviour), so it can still be edited before sending

  • or add an explicit accept control in the composer on touch layouts

Environment

  • Cloud session at claude.ai/code Android, Firefox focus
