Feature suggestion for Claude Code for VSCode

I’d like to position this extension in the side panel, much like how Cline or Roo Code appear in other VS Code extensions.
Could you suggest a suitable configuration method?

For context:
altering the terminal or editor layout doesn’t fit well with my workflow.
Also, if the code for this extension is maintained in a repository, I’d be happy to contribute a commit.
