[BUG] Dispatch unavailable on Windows 11 (Pro) - no Cowork tab; Cowork is only a composer toggle
Description
Dispatch cannot be set up because the Dispatch entry does not exist anywhere in
the desktop UI. The documented location — the Cowork tab and its left sidebar —
is not present in this build. Cowork itself works, but only as a Chat/Cowork
toggle inside the composer on the Home screen.
The mobile app shows the Dispatch onboarding screen, which instructs the user to
"go to the Dispatch tab on desktop and finish setup". That tab does not exist,
so setup cannot be completed from either side.
Environment
- OS: Windows 11 x64
- Claude Desktop: 1.34493.1 (Electron 42.9.2, Node 24.18.1)
- Plan: Pro
- Install: clean install on a new machine on 2026-08-20
- Region: Germany
- App shows a "Beta" badge in the top right of the Home screen
Steps to reproduce
- Clean-install Claude Desktop on Windows 11, sign in with a Pro account
- Open the app and look at the top navigation
- Look for a Dispatch entry in the left sidebar and under "Customize"
- On mobile, open Cowork → Dispatch
Expected
Per https://code.claude.com/docs/en/desktop the app has three tabs — Chat,
Cowork and Code — and Dispatch is reachable from the Cowork sidebar, where it
shows a QR code for pairing with the mobile app.
Actual
- Top navigation has two tabs only: "Home" and "Code". No Cowork tab.
- Left sidebar contains: New, Projects, Artifacts, Scheduled, Customize.
No Dispatch entry.
- Cowork is present only as a "Chat | Cowork" toggle in the composer on Home.
- "Customize" contains nothing Dispatch-related.
- The QR pairing screen is therefore never reachable.
Already tried
- Installed pending updates twice (update arrow next to the account name);
the arrow reappears after restarting the app
- Fully restarted the app after each update
- Checked the sidebar and the Customize section
