Code tab lost its "Recents" group after update (Home tab still has Recents)

What's Wrong?
After updating the Claude Code desktop app this morning (Windows 11; update
required a restart), the "Recents" group that used to appear at the top of the
project list in the CODE tab is gone.
The HOME tab still shows its "Recents" list normally — so this is specific to
the Code tab. In the Code tab, the list now only shows projects grouped by
folder (BFE-Finder, Bridge Design Tool, CATT, ...), with no Recents section at
the top. To reach a recently-used project I now have to scroll through the
alphabetical folder groups.
Yesterday (before the update) the Code tab had a "Recents" group pinned at the
top listing my most-recently-used projects/sessions. It disappeared after the
update.
What Should Happen?
The Code tab should show the "Recents" group at the top of the project list,
as it did before the update, so recently-used projects are reachable without
scrolling the full folder list.

Note: this appears to be the opposite of #55005 (which asked for project-based grouping over recents). Both workflows are valid — please keep a "Recents" view as a selectable option in the Code tab rather than replacing it. I work across ~5+ projects concurrently and rely on a Recents list to switch between them without scrolling the full alphabetical folder list.
Resolving this — turned out to be a grouping setting, not a missing feature.
The "Recents" view is still available: it's controlled by the filter panel's
Group by option. Setting Group by → Date (or None) with Sort by →
Recency restores the flat, most-recently-used-across-all-projects view I was
looking for. My default had gotten switched to Group by → Folder, which
buckets everything into an alphabetical folder tree and only sorts by recency
within each folder — so recent projects were buried.
One piece of real feedback to leave behind: the recent update appears to have
changed the default Group-by to Folder without any notice. That silent default
change is what made it look like Recents had been removed. It'd be worth either
preserving each user's previous grouping across updates, or surfacing when a
default view changes. Closing as resolved — thanks!
