[DOCS] Transcript view table missing the "Thinking" mode
Documentation Type
Incorrect/outdated documentation
Documentation Location

Section/Topic
"Switch view modes" (under Arrange your workspace)
Current Documentation
View modes control how much detail appears in the chat transcript... | Mode | What it shows | | Normal | Tool calls collapsed into summaries, with full text responses | | Verbose | Every tool call, file read, and intermediate step Claude takes | | Summary | Only Claude's final responses and the changes it made |
What's Wrong or Missing?
The table lists only three modes, but the actual Transcript view dropdown in the current Desktop app (accessible from the ⋮ menu) shows four: Normal, Thinking, Verbose, Summary — with Normal checked by default. The "Thinking" mode isn't documented anywhere, and it's not the same as the "Extended thinking" model setting described elsewhere on the page (which controls whether thinking happens, not how it's displayed in the transcript).
Screenshot of the actual dropdown attached below.
Suggested Improvement
Add a row for Thinking to the table, with a description of what it shows relative to Normal and Verbose (e.g., whether it expands Claude's extended-thinking blocks inline without full tool-call verbosity). Ideally confirmed with the feature owner rather than inferred from the UI.
Impact
Low - Minor confusion or inconvenience
