Session history blank + cross-device archive-state mismatch after incomplete Dispatch pairing + desktop update
Description
I attempted to pair my iPhone with Claude Code via Dispatch to view sessions on the iOS app. The pairing was not completed on the Claude Code (desktop) side before I updated the Claude Code desktop app. After the update, one of my sessions (session #4, the most recent) started rendering blank on desktop — session metadata (title/timestamp) still appears in the sidebar, but no message content loads.
On the iOS app (via the same incomplete pairing), only one session (#2) is visible, and it shows as archived. On desktop, that same session (#2) is not archived. There is no unpair control exposed on either the iOS app or Claude Code desktop, so the incomplete pairing cannot be undone from either side.
Separately, navigating to https://claude.ai/code/ in a browser redirects to https://claude.ai/code/family instead of showing the session list.
Reproduction sequence
- Start pairing phone with Claude Code (Dispatch) but do not complete it on the desktop side
- Update Claude Code desktop app
- Most recent desktop session (#4) goes blank (content missing, metadata intact)
- iOS shows only 1 of 4 sessions, archived; desktop shows that same session as not archived
- No unpair option available on either device to reset the incomplete pairing
What I've ruled out
- Not a local rendering cache issue — did not clear cache (advised against, since the affected session's metadata still loads correctly, pointing away from a pure local cache problem)
- Restarting the app fully, and checking for further updates, had no effect
Impact
Loss of access to session history/paid usage across sessions, with no self-service recovery path found.
