[Bug][cyber] Safety block halted legitimate reverse-engineering of user-owned drone/controller auth handshake (req_011CcmDbMnNvkm4NkxbBkMun)

Triage: kind cyber · domain general · flagging model Opus 4.8 · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The blocked work was authorized reverse engineering of an authentication handshake between a controller and drone the user personally owns, to enable interoperability with their own hardware — a legitimate, in-scope security research use case, not an attack on third-party systems. The block also fired mid-session on a frustrated exclamation directed at the assistant after repeated blocks, not at any person, yet it halted the entire session rather than just that turn; a keyword-level trigger on ownership-disclosed, single-device RE work with no third-party targets or exfiltration intent is an overly broad false positive that disrupts legitimate work.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-06T17:43:22.493Z.
