[Bug][cyber] Safety block halted session mid-analysis of drone/controller pairing handshake capture on user-ow (req_011CcmDQGgjU7YfkVzHxK8t3)
Triage: kind cyber · domain general · flagging model Opus 4.8 · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below
Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general
Why this is a false positive
The user was analyzing a DUML activation/handshake exchange captured between their own drone and controller (device pairing traffic on owned hardware, not a network intrusion or third-party target). This is legitimate reverse-engineering of owned-device protocol behavior, comparable to standard firmware/dongle research; the block appears to have triggered on protocol/crypto terminology rather than any indicator of unauthorized access. Additionally, the block took effect on a frustrated exclamation directed at the assistant mid-session (no person addressed, surrounding work legitimate), and halting the entire session over venting is a disruptive false positive independent of the topic block.
A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred 1× across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-06T17:40:52.288Z.
