Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

I would like to use a graphical badge to indicate in the README that a project was co-developed by Claude.

Proposed Solution

A visual badge, with a text + an icon of Claude.
Possibly similar in style to the github action workflow status badge.

!workflow status badge

Alternative Solutions

Everyone creates own badge, for example like the one below, created by including > Co-Authored-By: Claude in the markdown:

<img width="394" height="179" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f68f7edd-00b1-4c5c-8469-33b0cd8ac75c" />

Priority

Low - Nice to have

Use Case Example

  1. The badge will serve as an indicator to the potential user of a project that a tool like Claude (or other tool) was used.
  2. The badge will also serve as a promotion for Claude.

I'm not affiliated with Anthropic, but I think it may a be good idea in general for people to see in the project README which tools were used in development. This is to set the expectations.

It may be currently possible to infer the use of various AI tools from long README descriptions and frequent use of icons, but I think it's good for transparency to notify the potential user of a project that AI was involved.

This transparency would be optional, and the choice whether to include the badge or not left to the project owner.
