[BUG] Extremely slow startup and shutdown

What's Wrong?

I see hangs up to 10 mins or worse when I do any of the following:

• start claude code
• shut down claude code
• resume a claude code session with the search TUI
• install new claude code version -- says successfully installed then hangs

I admittedly have thousands of session log files and perhaps around 10 actively running CC sessions. I don't know if either of these contributes to the issue, but they shouldn't.

What Should Happen?

Claude Code should start/shut-down instantly.
