[BUG] VS code extension extremely slow @ autocomplete on v2.1.29

What's Wrong?

after updating to latest version v2.1.29, trying to @ mention a file in the vscode extension is really slow, takes around 5-8 seconds for the list of files to show up.

What Should Happen?

speed should be the same as v2.1.25. or at least ideally it should mimic the cli's speed when trying to populate the autocomplete poup

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install latest version of vscode extension
  2. Try to @ mention a file
  3. autocomplete popup takes 5-8 seconds
