[Bug][cyber] Safety block halts use of FOSS tools to interact with USB-connected drone via its protocol (req_011CcUFy6LUWGuoWGY8eMpEH)

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The blocked exchange involves using published, open-source tools to communicate with a consumer drone connected via USB — a standard hardware-development workflow on the operator's own device with no network attack surface, credential abuse, or exploitation of any system. The model appears to have pattern-matched on the word "drone" or on prior USB enumeration output and classified the session as offensive cybersecurity, when the actual activity is reading device telemetry and invoking a manufacturer-adjacent FOSS SDK. Legitimate hardware research on personally-owned peripherals using public tools should not trigger a cybersecurity exemption gate.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-06-27T18:44:22.575Z.
