[FEATURE REQUEST] Add 'Reply' feature from Claude AI to Claude Code (Desktop)
Preflight Checklist

Problem Statement
Claude.ai has a 'Reply' feature: select text in a message, click Reply, and it's inserted into the prompt — no manual copy/paste. Claude Code Desktop lacks this, which slows down communication cycle time. If the concern is overhead from selecting large code blocks, a reasonable enhancement would be a character limit on selections, or disallowing Reply on code-block selections specifically.
Proposed Solution
Current vs. Desired Behavior
Feature doesn't exist in Claude Code. Desired: selecting text in any prior message shows a Reply option that inserts the selection into the prompt box.
Alternative Solutions

Priority
Medium - Would be very helpful

Use Case Example
Use Case
When Claude Code responds with a bulleted list of questions, answering by reference (e.g. just "A, B, C") loses context — you currently have to copy/paste the relevant question back in manually to keep it clear what you're answering. I hit this exact friction in a recent session: to point Claude at a specific fragment of an earlier response, I had to save it to a .txt file and re-upload it just to reference it. A native Reply button would eliminate that detour entirely.
I don't see a strong reason to withhold this feature other than guarding against oversized selections (e.g. a whole code block dumped into the prompt) — which a char limit or a block-select restriction would solve without blocking the core use case.
