[BUG] iOS app silently crashes when tapping a Remote Control session to link (Code tab)

Resolved 💬 20 comments Opened Jun 23, 2026 by kevinxiaofengxu Closed Jun 23, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The Claude iOS app crashes to the home screen instantly when, from the Code
section, I tap a specific Remote Control session to link to it. Silent crash:
no error message, no warning, no crash dialog — the app just closes. The crash
does NOT happen on launch or anywhere else; it triggers only at this exact step.
Appears to be a regression in this build.

Frequency

100% reproducible (every attempt)

Already Tried

  • Force-quit and relaunch
  • Confirmed latest App Store version

Environment

  • App: Claude iOS v1.260618.0 (build 27777773659)
  • Device: iPhone 15 Plus
  • OS: iOS 26.5

What Should Happen?

Tapping the Remote Control session should open / connect it without crashing.

Confirming the same crash on app v1.260618.0 (installed ~12h ago, the June 22 update). Device: iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I have 3 Remote Control sessions, and tapping any of them from the Code tab crashes the app to the home screen instantly — 100% reproducible, silent crash, no dialog. Triggers only at this exact step.

Data point that may help isolate the layer: opening the exact same sessions from the mobile browser (claude.ai/code) works perfectly. So the session data server-side is intact — this looks like a native-iOS load/render crash specific to this build, not a session-data/relay problem. Reinstalling the app 3+ times did not help (App Store still serves 1.260618.0).

Confirmed same issue happening with me furrently

BhumikaE · 23 days ago

Confirmed - encountered same issue right now on iOS app

gekitsuu · 23 days ago

This is happening to me too. Tried restarting the sessions and reinstalling the app. All remote control sessions instantly cause the app to crash when you tap into them. You can approve /deny permissions fine.

I'm confirming the same issue as well.

Facing the exact same issue, on iOS 26.5 using an iPhone 14 Pro

For all that is good and holy. I have something for you guys to add to your Claude.md files so we can stop filling up the internet with redundant garbage:

When commenting on any kind of message board, forum or thread (including GitHub issues or similar bug trackers) check if the issue was resolved already. If yes, don't post anything.

How to force check update apps on your iPhone or iPad

  • Open the App Store.
  • Tap the My Account button or your photo at the top of the screen.
  • Tap App Updates, then pull to refresh, wait until complete, then tap Update next to an app to update only that app
