  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Dispatch mobile permanently shows "Offline / Can't reach your
desktop" despite Claude Desktop running normally.

After initial QR code pairing worked and a test message was
sent successfully at 6:34 PM, the mobile app began showing
the desktop as Offline.

Attempted fixes that failed:

  • Force closed and reopened Claude mobile app
  • Deleted the Dispatch conversation and re-paired via QR code
  • Keep Awake toggle is ON
  • Mobile Notifications toggle is ON
  • Desktop is awake and Claude Desktop is open

The three-dot menu (⋮) in Dispatch has no "Reconnect" or
"Show QR Code" option — only Clear background tasks, Report
content, Clear memory, and Delete conversation. There is no
way to re-establish the mobile connection from the UI.

What Should Happen?

After QR code pairing, mobile should maintain a persistent
online connection to the desktop. If connection drops, there
should be:

  1. An auto-reconnect mechanism
  2. A visible "Reconnect" or "Show QR Code" option in the

three-dot menu to manually re-pair without deleting the
entire conversation history

Error Messages/Logs

Mobile: "Can't reach your desktop. Check that your computer
is online and the desktop app is open."

Desktop Dispatch thread: "Desktop appears offline. Will run
when it reconnects."

No error shown in desktop UI despite:
- Computer awake (Keep Awake ON)
- Claude Desktop open
- Internet connected
- Cowork settings intact

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Desktop → Cowork → Dispatch
  2. Complete initial setup (Keep Awake ON, file access granted)
  3. Scan QR code from Claude mobile app
  4. Send a test message — confirms pairing works
  5. Leave session idle briefly OR force-close and reopen

mobile app

  1. Mobile Dispatch now shows desktop as "Offline"
  2. Click ⋮ menu — no reconnect option available
  3. Delete conversation and rescan QR code — issue persists
  4. Desktop remains permanently shown as Offline on mobile
