[BUG] Only Part of the Dialog Can be Used to Move Window

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Jun 1, 2026 by cristrautner Closed Jul 5, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

On macOS, I usually can't drag the Claude desktop window to move it. I have to keep click-dragging in various spots along the title bar until one happens to work, and roughly 9 out of 10 attempts fail. The spot that works is different each time, with no pattern. No other app on my system does this.

What Should Happen?

The full title bar should be draggable, consistent with standard macOS windows.

Error Messages/Logs

macOS: Tahoe 26.5
Claude Desktop: Claude 1.9659.2 (390d6c) 2026-05-28T21:50:01.000Z
Reproduces across reboots, macOS updates, and Claude Desktop updates

Steps to Reproduce

Open the Claude desktop app.
Make the window fairly large.
Try to drag the window by clicking and dragging various points along the title bar.
Most attempts fail to move the window, and the area that works is inconsistent between attempts.

Additional Information

Continues #50601 (auto-closed as stale, not addressed, on 2026-05-30). Same symptom confirmed at 26.3.1 and 26.4.1 there, and at 26.4.1 in #51140. Now reproducing on macOS Tahoe 26.5, so it has survived at least three OS point releases. Unlike #50601, which described a consistently dead upper-left half, the dead region in my case is not fixed; it moves between attempts.
