What's Wrong?

Hi guys,

i usually code on a real machine, Linux desktop, but every now and then i switch to my Macbook pro via Claude code desktop app. Today i had model opus 4.8 1M selected on Linux, but when i opened the same session on Claude code app on mac desktop, it says the selected model is 4.8 (NOT 1M - because 1M model is another selection in the dropdown. And it says effort is "extra", while i had the effort set to "medium" in Linux where i started the session. Either display in Mac desktop app is just wrong or perhaps something more sinnister is going on and when you switch to Mac app, it really changed the model and effort ,which would mean caching is gone and costs are up!

Please check it out, review it and fix it! :) thanks!

What Should Happen?

See description above. It should correctly dispaly model and effort when switching between sessions.

Error Messages/Logs

No errors, just incorrect display or it really does re-load model (and effort) from start, bypassing cache, not sure.

Steps to Reproduce

I already described above.

Is this a regression?
