Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Since a recent update of the Claude Code desktop app, the context token counter
(previously displayed to the right of the model selector) is no longer visible.
Only the plan usage is now shown in that area.
Expected behavior
The context token count should be visible in the bottom bar, next to the model
selector, as it was before.
What Should Happen?
Actual behavior
Only plan usage is displayed. No context token information is shown in the UI.
Why this matters
The context token counter is useful to:
- Know when you're approaching the context limit
- Understand how much of the window a conversation is consuming
- Decide when to start a new session
