Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Device: HP OmniBook 5 OLED 14, Snapdragon X, Windows 11 ARM64
Issue: Claude desktop app installs successfully but window never appears. 7 claude.exe processes spawn (confirmed via PowerShell) but all have MainWindowHandle: 0.
Error in Event Viewer: shellhost.exe crashing with UXFrame.dll, exception code 0xc0000409, every time Claude is launched.
Tried: ARM64 and x64 installers, SFC scan, DISM restore, all Windows updates installed, hardware acceleration disabled via config file, clean reinstall with AppData folders deleted.
Nothing worked. Likely an ARM64/Snapdragon X compatibility issue with the current build.

What Should Happen?

I should be able to open the claude Desktop application in my Laptop and use it.
