Claude code not respecting nix paths

Bug Description
Claude code is no longer respecting nix paths that are set up before invoking claude code. This is a regression of issue 3456; https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/3456. I am experiencing it in nix, but I suspect it also would happen for volta, mise, python virtual environments, and more (e.g. issue https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/3425 )
