What's Wrong?

I wanted to report a UI bug I'm experiencing in the Claude desktop app.

Issue: The release notes menu (accessed via the Help menu) becomes stuck open and cannot be dismissed.

Observed behavior:

  • The close/back/minimize buttons do not respond to clicks
  • The buttons appear visually unobstructed but seem to be layered behind the open menu elements, blocking interaction
  • Pressing Ctrl+R temporarily dismisses the menu, but it reopens automatically when navigating to Settings
  • Restarting the app does not resolve the issue
  • Restarting the PC does not resolve the issue
  • I am able to get it to close by clicking get help again and using the lower help button menu on the bottom right to close it.

Expected behavior: The release notes panel should close normally when the close or back button is clicked.

Environment:

  • OS: Windows 11
  • App: Claude Desktop

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior: The release notes panel should close normally when the close or back button is clicked.
