[Bug] HIGH PRIORITY!! Double-tap Escape freezes CLI and requires terminal restart

Bug Description
When I double tap escape to go back to a previous message, everything freezes and claude becomes completely unresponsive. It's both impossible to rewind, and impossible to recover the terminal. You guys are shipping at an irresponsible rate.
