Bug description

The keyboard shortcuts ⌘1, ⌘2, ⌘3 displayed as tooltips on the Chat/Cowork/Code tab buttons in the Claude desktop app do not work.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Claude desktop app
  2. Press ⌘1, ⌘2, or ⌘3
  3. Nothing happens — the mode does not switch

Expected behavior

Pressing ⌘1 should switch to Chat mode, ⌘2 to Cowork, ⌘3 to Code, as shown in the button tooltips.

Workaround attempted

  • Removed ⌘1/2/3 shortcuts from Arc browser → did not fix
  • Confirmed Magnet and Slack are not intercepting these shortcuts globally
  • keybindings.json does not appear to be supported in the desktop app

Environment

  • macOS, Claude desktop app (com.anthropic.claudefordesktop)
