Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

Feature Request

The /buddy command (introduced as an April Fool's Day easter egg) was a delightful feature that let users hatch a small creature that watches you code. Please make it a permanent feature!

### Current Behavior
/buddy is only available on April 1st. After that date, it returns "Unknown skill: buddy".

### Desired Behavior
/buddy should be available year-round as an optional fun companion feature.

### Motivation

  • It adds a playful, human touch to the coding experience
  • Many users loved it on April 1st but wish they could keep their buddy around
  • It's purely opt-in and doesn't interfere with core functionality
  • A persistent virtual coding companion could improve focus during long sessions

Proposed Solution

Consider making it toggleable (/buddy to spawn, /buddy off to dismiss), so users who prefer minimal UI aren't affected.
