Voice mode struggles to accurately transcribe strong regional British accents (e.g. Cockney/East London)
Description
Voice mode consistently mis-transcribes or drops words when the speaker has a strong regional British accent (specifically Cockney/East London). Standard RP British and American accents appear to work significantly better, suggesting a training data imbalance.
Steps to reproduce
Speak naturally in a Cockney or other strong regional British accent in voice mode. Compare transcription accuracy to the same phrases spoken in a neutral accent.
Expected behaviour
Regional accents should be transcribed with comparable accuracy to standard accents.
Impact
This disproportionately affects working class and regional communities who are already underrepresented in tech — it's an accessibility and equity issue, not just a usability one.
