Voice mode doesn't transcribe French speech (works in English)

Description

Voice mode (/voice) works correctly in English but produces no transcription when speaking French. Holding Space, speaking French, and releasing produces an empty result. The listening indicator is visible, so the issue is not with audio capture.

Steps to reproduce

1. Enable voice mode with /voice
2. Hold Space and speak in French
3. Release Space
4. Nothing is transcribed

Expected behavior

French speech should be transcribed, as Whisper (used for transcription) supports French.

• SoX v14.4.2 is installed and working
• arecord is available
• Audio hardware works correctly (verified with arecord and sox recording tests)
• Voice mode works correctly in English
