[BUG] Title: [BUG] Blank screen on launch when app is quit while in fullscreen mode (macOS)

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened Mar 13, 2026 by CodeMedic42 Closed Mar 17, 2026

  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When the Claude desktop app is quit while its window is in fullscreen mode, relaunching the app restores the fullscreen state but renders the window completely blank. Exiting fullscreen after relaunch immediately fixes the rendering and the app works normally.

What Should Happen?

The app should render its content normally when relaunching into fullscreen, the same way it does when relaunching in a non-fullscreen window.

Error Messages/Logs

There are none.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open the Claude desktop app
  2. Put the window into fullscreen mode (green button or Control+Command+F)
  3. Quit the app (not just close the window — full quit)
  4. Relaunch the app
  5. App reopens in fullscreen but the window content is completely blank

This is not about the CLI, it's about the Desktop App. I installed it via Home Brew if that matters.
